If you’re looking for a new Louisiana style hot sauce, Bootlikker Hot Sauce falls in this category. It’s slightly thicker than Tabasco or Crystal but it still has that strong Vinegar quality. Of course, it has the additional twist of the Tequila.
You start to notice flavors of Garlic, Onion, and spices when suddenly the tang of the Vinegar rushes forward with a hint of Tequila. This is followed by the distinct flavor and heat of Cayenne Peppers. There’s a moderate Saltiness and then the light flavor of Tequila lingers after along with the Vinegar. On the heat scale we would give this about a 2 out of 5 (which is hot for the mainstream folks but not for Spicy Addicts).
As with most vinegary sauces we used this on our eggs but you could also make a nice homemade buffalo sauce with this as the base.
