Starring the Fatalii Pepper of Central and Southern Africa, this sauce starts sweet with a strong Mango flavor and a hint of Tamarind while Agave Nectar adds to the sweetness as well. Both however are contrasted and mellowed by the immediate onset of Vinegar resulting in a balance of both sweet and tangy flavors. Next, a fair amount of Saltiness strikes the tongue followed by the heat and fruity flavor of the Fatalii Peppers. Finally, a gentle hint of Garlic rounds out the sauce.
This sauce pairs well with lighter flavored foods including fish, chicken, pork, and Caribbean style rice dishes.
Related to the Habanero Pepper, Fatalii Peppers can be equally hot and wonderfully flavored with a similar fruity quality. However, this sauce isn’t as spicy as Horseshoe Brand’s Habanero Sauce. It ranks around a 1.5 on a 5 point heat scale.
