The Bronx Green Hot Sauce is made using 6 all natural ingredients, grown right here in New York. It is our signature sauce and a best-seller.

The sweet yet bitter bite of the apple cider vinegar is masterfully balanced by the garlic-forward base and fiery spice from the locally sourced Serrano peppers. A true explosion of flavor, harmoniously fusing to pleasure your palate. Texturally, it brings the chunky consistency of a salsa verde, making it the perfect way to spice up anything from enchiladas to a Bloody Mary.

The Bronx Green Hot Sauce is made with serrano peppers grown in more than 70 community gardens throughout The Bronx. Each bottle purchased directly supports the gardens and gardeners who grow peppers for this hot sauce.

The Bronx Greenmarket Hot Sauce from Small Axe Peppers is a sauce that gives a little back. Born of a collaboration between Small Axe Peppers LLC and GrowNYC, the sauce is made with Serrano Peppers from Greenmarket farms and Bronx community gardens. Purchases support local communities and local farms. Greenmarket farms delivers the pepper seedlings to the community gardens who grow the peppers. Subsequently, the farm purchases the pepper harvest for the creation of this sauce.

This Serrano-based hot sauce has a nice amount of heat due to the additional punch the Serrano Peppers deliver over more ubiquitous Jalapenos. Initially, you notice the tang of the Apple Cider Vinegar along with some sweetness. Then, the full flavor of Serrano Peppers wash over your tongue and is quickly followed by fairly bold flavors of Garlic and Onion. It’s pretty heavy on the Garlic which we liked. Finally, a moderate saltiness is noticed rounding out the entire sauce.

The balance of ingredients in this sauce is excellent. On a heat scale of 0-5, this sauce ranks in the high 2s to low 3s.
